The Pickle Barrel
Bramalea City Centre

Date Visited: July 8, 2011

This upscale chain recently opened a new location as part of the renovations at Bramalea City Centre in the heart of Peel. One definite plus is the modern, chic decor, which adds to the feasting of the eyes.

My pastrami on rye was delicious. I was given the option of lean, medium lean or fatty meat. It wasn't too salty, and there were different options for bread - my favourite is rye. Pickles are a Pickle Barrel must.

Fearing the lack of vegetables in my diet, I ordered a greek salad - served in a generous portion with a good array of vegetables, a healthy serving of feta cheese, mixed in a creamy dressing. Although I like the fact that they gave a good helping of feta to keep things nice and savoury, there was a bit of discolouration in parts of the lettuce and green peppers.

Leanne got a bit of a laugh when I bit into an olive that wasn't pitted. For the price, pitting shouldn't be a concern.
