Questionnaire: Tony Lombardi
Candidate, Mayor (City of Vaughan) |
Why are you running for election? |
To shake up the old boys club with a mayor with no baggage.
What do you think is your most appealing quality to voters? |
Never been in political office, can speak in layman terms, If I can't
dazzle them with the truth I won't baffle them with "b.s."
If you're elected, what will be your main priorities? |
- Garbage and leaf clippings collection every week in the summer months -
same as green and blue bins.
- Major Performing Arts Center for Vaughan
- Developers must leave at least two mature trees on each new block of
homes, if it's a bare field they are building on, then they must plant two
mature trees. No more barren subdivisions.

Will you be accepting corporate donations to your campaign, and if so,
will accepting this money affect your candidacy?
I will not accept any corporate, private, personal or family monetary donations.
What should we do to increase voter turnout from 38%? |
Stop having in camera meetings at City Hall. Let the media and the people
have access to what is really happening.
Do you support the renaming of Highway 7, and if so, what would you
rename it to if it was your sole decision?
Hwy. 7 is just fine. Why waste money on something that won't make a
difference. Pet projects are for pets not people.
