Two other candidates under the radar

Though the focus will be the Democrats and the Republicans, Independent Ralph Nader and Libertarian Bob Barr are also on the ballot for President and have support from 1 percent of respondents in a national poll.

A spokesman from the Nader camp said, "Last time Ralph ran he did well and we expect he will do better, if not worse, this time."

Many Al Gore supporters blamed Nader for taking votes away from Gore in 2000. "But it didn't matter," said the Nader spokesman, "because Gore won the popular vote anyway. This time, we expect he will do better, if not worse."

Bill Barr is a former Republican who many parents claim scare their toddlers when they see his face on TV. "I can't vote for anyone who frightens my baby," said a mother from Indiana. "I will vote for Palin because my kid's face lights up when she is on TV and I really love her blouses."

A spokesperson from the Barr camp told reporters, "Barr believes Obama being black beckons blacks to cast ballots." When asked if statements from Barr's campaign will always be alliterations, the spokesperson said, "No. Why, was what I just said one of them things?"

Obama's camp has made no comment about the two Independents, other that to smile and laugh whenever their names are mentioned.

The McCain camp said that neither of the two Independents, to his knowledge, have friends as ornery, dangerous or suspicious as Obama's friends from the past, who, the McCain camp claims, "know how make bombs, explode bombs and look scarier than Bill Barr on TV."

Nader's camp was too busy planting new trees in Oregon to make comment on any of this. Nader has run for President many times, always doing so, he says, to make a statement about the weakness of the two-party system. A spokesman from the Nader camp said, "Last time Ralph ran he did well and we expect he will do better, if not worse, this time."
