Election History Being Made in Texas!

The Texas legislature meets every two years. During the last legislative
session, the hand-counted paper ballot bill (then known as HB 3894) did not
get a hearing at the House Committee on Elections. This year will be
different. It has been confirmed by Rep. Howard's office that HB 4653 will get
a hearing at the Committee level this time. And VoteRescue members will be there
to testify as to why electronic voting machines cannot be trusted with the most
precious asset Americans really have in this country: Our vote. The text of the
bill can be found here: www.legis.state.tx.us/tlodocs/81R/billtext/html/HB04653I.htm.
|
  |
The fundamental components of the bill eliminate electronic voting machines
entirely other than ballot-marking devices that would allow the disabled to
vote without assistance; call for reduction in the size of large precincts to
be reduced to no more than 2000 voters; call for citizen teams of four to
count ballots at the precinct level after the polls close at 7 pm; and add
the additional security component of video cameras on the ballot box at all
times during the election, including taping of the entire counting process.
Final vote totals would be posted at the precinct level.

  |
When the ballot box never leaves the view of citizen monitors and video
cameras, and the ballot box seal is broken after 7 pm when the cameras record
the teams of citizens counting the ballots, and totals are posted at the
precinct level... well, you just don't have a problem with dead people voting
or ballot boxes ending up in the river.
|
  |
The highest court in Germany ruled on March 3, 2009 that the use of electronic
voting machines is unconstitutional because they violated provisions requiring
that voters be able to assure themselves - without specific technical
knowledge - that their vote was recorded correctly.
|
  |
Texas, and we hope, our entire nation, will choose to follow Germany's
example and pull the plug on the biggest scam ever perpetrated on the American
voter: Electronic voting machines.
|
  |
It's easier to understand how our great country has gone down a path of moral
and economic ruin when you realize that none of our so-called leaders were
elected... they were SE-lected - by electronic voting machines!
|
  |
If we want to ever regain control of our country and re-establish true freedom,
we citizens have to reclaim control of our elections away from corporate
vendors, and back into our own hands.
