The Incredible Kicks

What got this band together and started in this business?

Our mutual love of karaoke and ease to boredom.

What are the best features about your music?

Well, we've been described as having a strong reminiscene of the 80s, but some how freshly modernized. Our idols are clearly bands like The Darkness, Queen, The Beach Boys in relation to the vocal harmonies, Yes, ELO, Rolling Stones in regards to the music.

Your film clip for "Any Excuse" is remarkable. Can you tell us the secret of how you made it?

We love trying to do things in one take. It adds a challenge that we enjoy, and is hopefully appreciated by the viewer. Lets just say there was a fair bit of practising walking backwards, among other things.

Has the band played in front of or with any acts our readers would know from the mainstream?

We've recently supported Closure In Moscow, a moderately successful Aussie band who have toured overseas numerous times.

Where can people access your music on the web?

www.facebook.com/theincrediblekicks
Awesome, or at least confusing film clips at: www.youtube.com/theincrediblekicks.

It must be vindicating to write music of such an excellent calibre?

It is! We give the listener a lot of credit in their ability to listen to and appreciate slightly "challenging" music, slightly to the side of conventional pop.

What words would you use to describe the sound of your latest release "Ineffective Lullabies"?

Quite simply - Loud TV and Valentine's cards.

What is your musical background like?

Many, many years of playing! No formal study, just appreciation.

What is the top reason why you want to play music?

Better than working for a living.
