Red Roof Inn Buffalo - Hamburg Hamburg, New York |
  |
Located about 20 minutes from Downtown Buffalo on Interstate 90, the Red Roof Inn
Buffalo - Hamburg is among a group of various competing properties on similar price points,
focused on drawing in the common budget tourist.

Instead of choosing this property for the price displayed on its large electronic sign (classy), I
reserved this hotel online; I had to be close to a friend whose family just happened to live in the
suburb next door. Considering the unique way the Buffalo area is structured, this property is within
a short driving distance from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park (where Buffalo's football team
usually play home games).

The rooms were recently redesigned, bringing in a modern decor on what otherwise would have been
little more than a motel. Features that come standard include a microwave, fridge and coffee in the
lobby. I really appreciate the common appliances since it falls in line with what we use at home.

Considering the age of the property, the doors and corridors are all outdoors, which might be a
negative considering the fact that more recently built hotels feature more secure indoor hallways.
The lobby, though it is small, felt quite cozy as the staff provided considerate, polite service.

Check-in and check-out was a pretty straightforward process, despite my arrival which was two hours
too early. The room itself had a modern feel with fixtures and appliances more in line with business
hotels, although the bathroom looked a bit dated. A room with a specific area for work is available
for a higher fee, which helps mentally separate the living area from the working area.

Minuses? Reception was a difficult place to find; I had to circle both buildings on this property,
twice on foot, in order to find the lobby. At the rate I paid, I would have liked a continental
breakfast at least. Much of the Red Roof Inn chain used to offer this perk, might I add.
