Interview: Inherence

What got this band together and started in this business?

Brock and Jordan met up in 2000 and started to create the chaos. We got Jimbo the drummer into it and that helped sparked it. We then went on tours, more and more amazing crowds every time we hit the stage. We have fun!

Who writes and produces all the material for the band?

We write and produce all of our music. Brock Thrasher writes all the lyrics. Our full length album was co-produced by Doug White of Watchmen Studios.

Has the band played in front of or with any acts our readers would know from the mainstream?

We have played with several amazing acts. Toured with Hatebreed, Biohazard, Sworn Enemy, Full Blown Chaos, Motorhead, Madball, Cephalic Carnage, 5 Finger Death Punch, Pro-Pain, Bleed The Sky, Danny Diablo, Metal Church... and we headlined the Monster Energy Showcase in South By Southwest and many more.

Where can people access your music on the web?

Right now you can get our brutal music on our MySpace page. Haha, doesn't everyone?

Any embarrassing moments on stage?

Define embarrasing! Well, Brock breaks beer bottles over his head and still stands okay, and continues singing - he then may throw up on the side of the stage, bleeding everywhere.

Any good stories you want to tell us?

When we were playing at South By Southwest there were 12 bands on the show. We drove 1700 miles just to play it - $1,000 in gas - we were broke as hell. The show had a steady amount of people throughout the performances and all was cool.

Well we ended up playing last and within one minute of us playing people were bum rushing from off the street to get in. When we played we multiplied the croud by 4; it was insane crazy chaos. It was such a rush! The pits were totally out of control. It felt real good to have that much support from people who never even heard Inherence before. Texas was a blast!

Who are the band's musical influences?

Wow. Well, we have very diverse influences since each member has something different. It ranges from Victor Wooten, to Iron Maiden to Slayer, East Coast Hardcore - too many great bands to list, from Scorpions to Terry Bozio.. yeah we have a odd mix which is why we think we write differently than others. We don't like to do the typical stuff that you may hear over and over again. Boring.

What is your musical background like?

Very diverse, from traditional class, to just rocking out and going with the flow.

Any other members in your family that are musicians?

Jordan's father was a musician back in the day while Brock's brother was a drummer - actually, he was the first drummer for Inherence. JC's son is young rocking drummer who's cool to see. No one famous - hahaha - we are trying to be the famous ones so help us.

What is the top reason why you want to play music?

It makes us feel real good! It's our balance in life's insanity. It's truly like therapy. We want to tour constantly and others can helps us do just that.

What has been your best show?

ell thats really hard to say to tell you the truth. We always have an amazing time doing shows with Madball, Biohazard and Hatebreed they are always amazing. The South by Southwest show was cool, because we came from miles and miles away and no one knew us, and we completely owned that show.
