Gems of gentle thought

In a world filled with negativity and despondent people roaming and pondering and desiring a path to peace and prosperity, I am often asked to pass along pearls of wisdom that get people motivated and charged to endeavor in positive action.

Regardless of all that, I offer the following gems of gentle thoughts that all of use may find useful, if only to pass a little time while you are reading, waiting for something good to happen.

When faced with a choice, choose the path that strengthens you, though the path that weakens you is shorter and more comfortable.

Choose to learn, choose to grow, choose to more fully become your inner self, unless you resemble Richard Speck.

Explore places where you have not been, but stay clear of Kiev.

Look at ideas and concepts that you have not considered before, especially those involving whole grains.

If you stay hidden in the comfortable and familiar, your spirit may soon grow weary and a spirit grown weary is worse than a wrestler with a folding chair.

Recharge the passion in your life. Get out there, beyond what is comfortable, routine and expected. Discover the depth and richness of your inner self, even when the elements of depth and richness amount to nothing more than a gift certificate to K-Mart.

A life that is tested and challenged is a life that surely becomes filled with purpose. The more briskly the wind blows against your face, the more freely a straw hat will fly off your head. But you will learn - who needs a straw hat?

Go where you have not been, beware of where you think of going and then from a new perspective go out again. This time take a weapon.

There's no end to what you can discover and become. Just don't expect to find anything as big as Christopher Columbus found.

Be alert and awake, even if it means not sleeping for a few days.

You will know you are on the path to peace when you see a sign that reads: PATH OF PEACE - THIS WAY.
