What awe remains?

Now that all of us have seen clear, distinct photos of the planet Pluto, what could we possibly see to incite us with awe? Those photos of the planet farthest from Earth should become the pinnacle of awe for us all.

But human nature refuses to allow us to be satisfied with the most awesome photos of a planet ever to be witnessed. As humans we demand more and then more after that and then more after the more we demanded while wanting more from more.

What would satisfy our awe? Sometimes I think that even a photo of God would not satisfy a human t hat his or her awe peaked. This is why I went to the streets to ask humans what they could imagine seeing that would totally satisfy their awe. Below are some of the responses.

"A photo that clearly defines the skull of Bruce Willis."

"Merlot wine imported from a country that does not grow grapes."

"A clown exploding in a freefall from a hot-air balloon."

"A deck of cards with all the aces edible."

"The President of France playing an accordion while standing in a snake pit."

"The movie 'Gunga Din' projected in reverse."

"My husband emptying the garbage."

"Two clowns exploding in a freefall from a hot air balloon."

"A cloud that suddenly takes the shape of a pimpernel."

"Photos from the planet Pluto. What? They took photos from the planet Pluto? I’m sure when I see them I will awe no more."

"Francis Ford Coppola changing his name to Francis Chevrolet Coppola."

"A pill that lets me live forever but only if all the people I hate cannot live forever."

"The President of France playing a mandolin while standing in Cream of Wheat."

"Richard Dreyfuss in a good movie."

"The shadow of your smile."

"If everyone in the world shouted the F-word at once."

"The return of phone booths."

"A man on a flying trapeze who can actually fly through the air with the greatest of ease."

"Photos from the planet Pluto. What? There are photos of the planet Pluto? But did they take photos of Uranus beforehand?"
