Pitches for new TV game shows

There is an entire cable station dedicated to game shows new and old and there will always be a spot on any network for a new game show. That is why my friend the TV producer recently let me in on some pitches for fresh game shows that could be in development soon. I invite you to read about them.

THE EASY GAME

This show would give a chance for contestants that are not smart enough to be on a show like Jeopardy. When applying to the show, the less education a person has, the more chances he or she has to be a contestant.

In this game, all of the questions are incredibly simple but they are disproportionate in their cash values. The more difficult the question, the less money it is worth, and vice-versa.

Three contestants have to scramble far from their podiums to hit a small button across the stage. The first one to hit the button gets to answer a question that is so simple everyone knows it. Players are allowed to do anything to their opposing players while trying to get to the button.

Some sample questions and values are: What is the last letter of the English alphabet? What white substance falling from the sky can pile up in winter time? What U.S. war took place in the U.S.?

Hosted by Biff Scant, previously the host of the cancelled game shows What's Your Line Of Work, Don't Tell My Wife and How Long Can You Hold Your Breath.

NO DEAL

Choosing from sixty closed cases holding various amounts of money or sand, a single contestant chooses a case to be opened. Just before the case is opened to reveal money or sand, the contestant can shout "No deal" and he or she will not get the money or sand in the case and the game goes on.

If the person does not shout "No deal", before a case is opened, they get the money or the sand that is in the case.

Another option for a contestant includes the opportunity to shout "No deal" when they are called to the stage to play, at which time they save themselves the embarrassment of having to find a way to transport the sand they are bound to win when playing the game.

What contestants do not and will never know is that only two of the sixty cases is holding money - the rest of them have sand.

Hosted by Cliff Palet, previously the host of cancelled game shows Put Your Pants On, Please Drive Me Crazy and Answer Correctly Or Die Trying.
