I worked as his assistant, he being Reggie Von Wethersbury, the Skeptical Psychic, for fifteen
years during the greatest time of his success whenever called upon by police detectives.
Another great adventure with him was the case of the the Visiting Nurse Murders. After a score of
deaths the detectives were stumped and turned to Reggie.
"Reggie," a detective said, "all of victims were visiting nurses caring for sick people at the
peoples' homes."
"Did they wear uniforms?" Reggie said.
"Sick people don't wear uniforms," I said.
"Shut that kid up," a detective said.
"I see images of nurses," Reggie said, "but they could be ice cream salesmen dressed as nurses. But
I don't know, perhaps they were house painters."
"They?"
"Oh there was more than one," Reggie said. "Maybe a dozen house painters ganging up on sick
people. A gang, maybe."
The detective said, "So they weren't visiting nurses?"
"They may've been, sure," Reggie said, "but I'm foggy on the nurse thing."
