Interview: Debbie (from Ten Year Vamp)

What got this band together and started in this business?

The "founding members" are myself (Debbie) and Mark (the rhythm guitar player). We were each in different bands, but we wanted to put together a project where we were at the helm and could really put together a great pop rock band. We had auditions and eventually we found Andy (lead guitar), Timmy (bass) and Greg (drums). We have all been involved in music and bands for most of our lives. I think it's just in our blood.

Who writes and produces all the material for the band?

The song writing is done my myself and Andrew. When we have the skeleton of a song, we bring it to the guys and everyone adds their input to each song. Our last album was produced by Mike Watts (of In De Goot Entertainment). He's worked with Saliva, Adelita's Way, Theory of a Deadman, etc.

Has the band played in front of or with any acts our readers would know from the mainstream?

We've played with TONS of national artists; Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Fuel, Gin Blossoms, Good Charlotte, One Republic, 3Oh!3, Finger 11, Simple Plan, Lifehouse, Gavin Degraw, etc.

Where can people access your music on the web?

The best place to find our music on the web is iTunes. Our CDs can be purchased through us, CDBaby, Hot Topic and FYE. They can sample our music on our website as well.... www.tenyearvamp.com.

Any embarrassing moments on stage?

Thankfully, none yet. But now that you asked about it, I'm sure someone is going to fall off stage at our next show!

Any good stories you want to tell us?

We always say "what happens at a Ten Year Vamp show... stays at a Ten Year Vamp show". We have so many great stories. Every show is crazy. We've taken a lot of bus trips... sometimes WITH our fans. We'll rent a fifty seater bus and invite our fans to come with us. So we'll bring coolers of alcohol and food and party the whole way to the show, bang out a set, party at the club for a little bit, then party the whole way home.

Believe it or not, we've had two buses break down on us and have gotten stranded on the side of major highways. Thankfully, we had plenty of alcohol and food... and no one seemed to care.
