We are influenced by everything. Monica is a drummer and listens to lots of
metal - Meshuggah, Protest the Hero, etc. plus pop - she adores Katy Perry. Jen
took jazz guitar lessons in university and loves country as much as she loves rock.

(Music is) the only thing I have ever wanted to do, for as long as I
can remember. I love all (my shows), but I will never forget getting to sing a
duet with Edwin McCain after opening for him last year.

We all started like everybody... just wanting to play music we were inspired by
and taking it from there. Most of us are self-taught in what we do. I think you
always go after the stuff you really want to know and it develops from there.

I think that what really got us working together is our being
very open minded to experimentation. We want to play music that we like, but we
don't want to be constrained in any way.

I only sang one song (at my first show) but it was my first radio release
and Abilene was the first to ever hear it on the mainstream... it was so cool
to hear a sold out crowd sing you lyrics to a song you wrote.
